Online-Internship: Digital Field Survey Archaeology

Claudio is a MA student in Classics and pre-Roman Archaeology at the universities of Naples and Kiel (University Federico II and CAU). After completing his BA in 2018, he is specializing in the use of GIS andspatial analysis in archaeological field survey projects, working especially in the valley of the Fortore river in Molise (Central-South Italy). Also, he is interested in the material culture of Central Italy in the pre-Roman period. From June 2020 onwards, he participates in the internship Digital Field Survey Archaeology at KNIR. Within the FASTI Online Survey project, his tasks include collecting and digitising both old and more recent survey data, which are now difficult to access and analyze. The digitized data from projects conducted in Molise and Puglia will be integrated into the online FASTI platform, and thus made openly accessible to researchers and the wider public alike.
